About the Positions

Strategic Capacity Group (SCG) is hiring a Site Manager based in Canyon City, CO to manage operations, supervise local staff, and ensure seamless logistics and on-site event support for a corrections training program attended by participants from around the world. The Site Manager will be responsible for all site operations, services, and logistics, managing a team to guarantee timely and successful advance set up, on-the-ground participant engagement and assistance, and event close-out. The Site Manager will operate in close coordination with staff based at SCG’s Headquarters in McLean, VA, as well as through effective communication with sponsors, hosts, participants, trainers, and vendors at the training site in Colorado.  Seamless logistics and onsite event support activities will include participant arrivals and departures, lodging, local transportation, catering, interpretation and translation, material production, data/records collection, site visits/cultural events, as well as the apt management of unforeseen circumstances or emergencies. The Site Manager is also responsible for facility maintenance and operations, managing vendors and vendor service provision, and resolving and addressing problems to ensure continuous and seamless delivery of training at the facility.

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • At least five years of full-time, relevant work experience managing a site, including facility maintenance and operations; planning events; selecting, negotiating, and managing vendors; providing diplomatic and responsive customer service and problem-solving support; dealing with travel-related emergencies and logistical hurdles; and/or working with foreign officials, dignitaries, and participants to plan and deliver events.
  • Proven ability to manage a team, collaborate well with other teams, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Willing and able to organize and participate in cultural events, site visits, and other post-training activities with foreign officials, including during weekends (flex schedule). 
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred. 
  • Experience working in or with the U.S. State Department or U.S. Embassies overseas (preferred).
  • Fluent in English. Proficiency in a foreign language (Spanish) preferred.
  • Salary range: $60,000 - $80,000 commensurate with experience.
