About the Position

Strategic Capacity Group (SCG) is seeking Project Coordinators based in Accra, Ghana to serve on SCG’s Global Operations Team, a globally available, responsive, and culturally adept team that operates with team members around the world to plan and deliver travel and event logistics to a high standard of excellence. These positions will support delegations traveling to attend events at the West Africa Regional Training Center (RTC) as part of the International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) Program. The Project Coordinators will work with SCG’s ILEA team members to book travel, resolve travel contingencies, and negotiate vendor services, such as event facilities, catering, transportation, lodging, and interpretation. They will also support the arrival and departure of delegates at the RTC, addressing and resolving logistical contingencies, providing logistical support, and conducting monitoring and evaluation activities.

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

Ideal candidates will have knowledge and experience with event planning and execution, travel planning and execution for groups or delegations of officials, and/or experience in the hospitality sector planning and executing large or complex events and problem-solving contingencies. Candidates should also possess excellent customer service and communications skills and be able to problem solve logistical challenges. Specifically, candidates must be:

  • Located in Accra, Ghana and willing to work with team members across multiple time zones to provide responsive and timely logistical services. 
  • Fluent in English. Ideal candidates will also be proficient in at least one other West African language.
  • Experienced in travel and event logistics as a conference planner, event organizer, travel coordinator, or hospitality event planner. Experience should include booking travel, resolving travel contingencies, and negotiating vendor services, such as event facilities, catering, transportation, lodging, and interpretation.
  • Experience with U.S. security assistance programs and/or U.S. Embassy programs and processes, including Leahy vetting and Fly America travel requirements highly preferred.
